'My 'thing' is endurance events. Having spent some years competing in long distance (Ironman) triathlon, I began to recognise that my running stamina was good so recently I have been focussing on ultra-marathon running. This is at odds with my desire to retain upper body strength which is easily lost doing the amount of cardiovascular exercise that ultra's entail. That's where James comes in.
I started PT with a view to breaking through a fitness ceiling that I seemed to have hit. My goal was to push the limits of my endurance capacity without the loss of upper body strength. James has assisted in this process.
Without doubt he is the best personal trainer I have worked with. He's passionate about it and is much more knowledgeable than your average PT with an excellent understanding of the 'other' disciplines of rest/recovery and nutrition.
James is a perfectionist and will not allow laziness in technique to creep in. He also works you hard - the main reason I see James is to push my limits outside my comfort zone and he certainly does this! As far as I'm concerned that's the only way to go but I'm sure he has a gentle side as well!
I enjoy working with James - his knowledge of the physical makes for good debates on latest techniques/fads etc. He also delivers results - my performances and strength have improved radically.'

When I started working with Scott I was suffering from M.E and the nightmare that goes with this condition. I chose to use exercise to get through but had to be careful not to make my situation worse. Once I had contacted Scott I knew I had made the right decision and had found someone who was going to be able to help me.
The first thing Scott did was to give me his time for a free no obligation meeting to talk about my goals and needs. Because of my condition this was not a short meeting and Scott never made me feel rushed. I decided to give personal training with him a go as I was so impressed after this meeting.
I'm glad I did - when we next met he had done mountains of preparation in his own time and had devised a personalised plan to build my strength and energy levels. I was blown away by the amount of thought and effort he had put into my programme.
One month on I had already seen an improvement in my energy levels to the extent I did not have to quit my job. Six months on I saw a marked increase in my fitness levels and posture. One year on and I'm able to exercise in the same way as anyone else and was able to join a local Bootcamp. Something that would have been impossible before working with Scott.
It was hard work but Scott kept me motivated, he was always honest and set out realistic goals and timescales. He advised me on nutrition and supplements and went above and beyond to help me and now ... Well I don't have. M.E anymore that's for sure! I have to watch my fatigue levels and I always will have to but without Scott I think I might have ended up bedridden the way I was going.
I can't recommend him highly enough for anyone who wants to meet a goal or target in general but especially to anyone suffering any type of fatigue or stress related condition.
